Jessica M de la Perrelle

Dr Jess de la Perrelle is a postdoctoral researcher at the Future Industries Institute, Adelaide University, working under A/Prof. Matthew Griffith. Her current research is focused on light-mediated neural modulation devices based on organic semiconductors. More broadly, her researcher interests lie in the use of organic semiconductors for energy (photovoltaic and photocatalytic) and biomedical applications, with particular interest on excited state photophysics on fast and ultrafast timescales. She works between disciplines, combining techniques from materials science, physical chemistry, laser spectroscopy, and computer science to manufacture, understand, and optimise a range of optoelectronic devices. Jess has Bachelor of Science (Chemistry, Experimental & Theoretical Physics) and Masters of Philosophy from the University of Adelaide. She completed her PhD in ultrafast laser spectroscopy of organic semiconductor nanoparticles at the University of Adelaide, under the supervision of A/Prof. Tak Kee and A/Prof. David Huang, in early 2025.
