Pei Lay Yap
Dr Pei Lay Yap is a Project Leader funded by the ARC Research Hub for Advanced Manufacturing with 2D Materials at the School of Chemical Engineering, Adelaide University, Australia, where she specialises in water purification and carbon capture using graphene-related 2D materials. With a research career spanning over 7 years, Dr. Yap has gained > 2500 citations and published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and an encyclopaedia chapter in the functional materials, environmental Chemistry and materials metrology disciplines. She received her PhD from the University of Adelaide, and has been honoured with numerous awards, including the recent prestigious 2024 Measurement Achievement Encouragement Award by National Measurement Institute (NMI), Australia, 2023 Catalyst Award and 2021 Cornforth Medal Award by Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI). Her passion is also devoted on the characterisation, quality control and standardisation of graphene materials where she leverages her passion and knowledge on graphene metrology to advance the development of graphene adsorbents for emerging environmental remediation technologies.
