I am a PhD candidate in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, working under the supervision of Professor Vito Ferro. My research focuses on the synthesis of rare L-sugars and carbohydrate-based building blocks for vaccine development targeting antibiotic-resistant bacteria, with a particular interest in exploiting the fluorine directing effect to access rare L-hexose scaffolds.
