Yun Wang

Dr Yun Wang is a Professor at Griffith University and a Fellow of both the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI). He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin (USA) and the University of Sydney (Australia), and he earned his PhD from Fudan University (China). Additionally, Dr. Wang has briefly worked at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. Dr. Wang's research group specializes in data-driven materials design. His team develops and employs multi-scale computational methods to investigate the properties of materials, surface and interface science, and chemical reaction mechanisms. The insights gained from these theoretical approaches are then used to guide the design of high-performance functional materials, particularly in the fields of catalysis and renewable energy applications. Their findings are published in prestigious scientific journals, including Nature and Nature Energy. The outcomes of his research aim to advance the fundamental understanding of the operational principles of green chemistry technologies. The knowledge and insights developed from this work will enable the manipulation of the electronic properties of materials by tuning their structure and composition under working conditions, ultimately leading to improved device design and enhanced performance in practical applications.
