Chantelle Falanga

Chantelle is a PhD Candidate at Adelaide University studying inorganic photocatalysts for the degradation of organic pollutants. Under the supervision of Dr Cameron Shearer, her research interests include niobium-based metal oxide and zinc sulphide nanocrystals. In 2025, she graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) (Honours) and obtained a First class honours in chemistry as well as the University Medal. Her honours project focused on lanthanum doping of niobates for organic pollutant degradation. Now, she is exploring photocatalysts which can use the reduction pathway to degrade the strong chemical bond in persistent organic pollutants.
