I am a synthetic chemist with 25 years of experience in the area of medicinal chemistry. My research spans the areas of infectious diseases, neurobiology, innate immunity and drug discovery and has focused on design of new synthetic pathways and development of chemical probes and small molecule inhibitors. I have nbeen working as a Research Fellow with Thomas Ve to build medicinal chemistry and drug discovery capabilities in his group. In this role I have developed medicinal chemistry programs focused on developing inhibitors of SARM1, a promising thereapeutic target for neuorodegenrative diseases, and chemical probes targeting the innate immune system. In the latter program, I provided preliminary data esstential for the success of an ARC DP25 application ($790,000) led by Thomas Ve.
