Ruchika Ojha Royal Australian Chemical Institute National Congress 2026

Ruchika Ojha

Dr Ruchika Ojha is a Lecturer in the School of Science at RMIT University and leads the Molecular Engineering Group within the Centre for Advanced Materials and Industrial Chemistry. Her research focuses on the design, synthesis, electrochemical generation, and mechanistic investigation of gold and platinum complexes, with particular emphasis on unusual oxidation states. Her research spans inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, crystallography, and chemical biology, with a focus on understanding the structure–reactivity relationships of metal complexes and their biological activity. By exploiting the unique redox properties of gold and platinum systems, her work seeks to develop new approaches to overcoming treatment resistance and advancing metal-based therapeutics for cancer. She received the RMIT Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowship (2022–2025) and the 2025 Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Research Engagement and Impact (Early Career Researcher).
