Mohammed Siddeek Fathima Nusra

I am Nusra, a Ph.D. student at the University of Sydney, School of Chemistry, originally from Sri Lanka. I am part of NEW research group under the supervision of Professor Elizabeth New, where my research focuses on developing advanced fluorescent clickable probes to study cellular biochemistry. My work involves the design and synthesis of fluorogenic, and bimodal fluorescent–Raman probes for protein tagging and bioorthogonal imaging. By combining chemistry, spectroscopy, and cell biology, I aim to better understand protein structure, function, and molecular interactions within living systems. My research contributes to the development of innovative multimodal imaging tools for studying complex biological processes in cells.
