Fabian J Kallmeier Royal Australian Chemical Institute National Congress 2026

Fabian J Kallmeier

Fabian completed his PhD with Professor Rhett Kempe in 2021 investigating manganese and chromium catalysts for (de-)hydrogenation and bond-forming reactions. Afterwards, he moved into the field of catalysis with renewable carbon sources at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis in the group of Professor Johannes 'Hans' deVries, working closely with industrial partners on developing and scaling the synthesis of bio-renewable compounds for use in adhesives. Since 2022, he has been part of the Hicks group at the Australian National University, studying highly reactive organometallic compounds, particularly based on low-valent aluminium, capable of activating small molecules. His research interests lay at the boundary between sustainable chemistry and organometallics.
