Sophia Kelly
I endeavor to provide further knowledge through research towards climate science and sustainability. My areas of interest include environmental, physical, analytical and bio chemistry, electrochemistry and biology.
I obtained an undergraduate in a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Chemistry) at Curtin University in Perth, WA, from the years 2020 to 2023. While enjoying my chemistry units, I also chose elective subjects in environment, biology, botany, because of my interests in the natural world. Within the Advanced Science degree I had experience in working on projects concerned with soil science/chemistry and biogeochemistry. In 2024 I undertook my Honours at Curtin in environmental electrochemistry supervised by Prof. Simone Ciampi with a first class distinction. This year, in 2026, I am undertaking a PhD in environmental electrochemistry concerning PFAS electrochemistry, supervised by Prof. Debbie Silvester and Prof. Damien Arrigan.
I’m an advocate for people with silent disabilities and promoting accessibility.
