Siew Fang Wong

Dr. Wong Siew Fang (Thomas) is a Research Fellow at the School of Science, Monash University Malaysia. He obtained his B.Sc. (First Class Honours) in Resource Chemistry from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. He subsequently completed his M.Sc. at Universiti Sains Malaysia and his Ph.D. at Universiti Malaya. His research interests lie at the interface of analytical chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, and functional materials, with particular emphasis on biosensor array design and the development of heterocyclic compounds with potential biological applications. His work integrates synthetic chemistry with analytical and biological evaluation to explore structure–activity relationships and functional properties of novel chemical scaffolds. Currently, his research focuses on the design, synthesis, and bioevaluation of imidazonaphthyridine derivatives as potential antimicrobial and therapeutic agents. He is also interested in exploring their physicochemical and photophysical properties for potential applications in chemical sensing and bioanalytical systems.
