Vicky G Barnett

I am a teaching focussed academic passionate to promote equitable access to tertiary education for all students. Prior to joining Curtin (in 2014) I'd spent 16 years teaching in various universities, senior colleges and high schools. Although I have many iSOLT interests, my top 2 preferences relate to how to best support students from alternate non-ATAR pathways, and developing meaningful, engaging and equitable laboratory learning experiences. I am the founder and chair of an inter-institutional Lab Accessibility Community of Practice consisting of staff and students dedicated to streamlining how to best support students requiring adjustments in the laboratory learning environment. I am also a keen supporter of the RACI and am active in the WA Branch and its Chem Ed Group. I coordinate the WA-leg of the annual RACI titration competition open to all senior secondary high school students in WA. I am also a Course Lead, H&S rep, first-aider and mental health first aider in my faculty.
