Jack H. Ryan

Dr Ryan is currently a Senior Principal Research Scientist in CSIRO’s Biomedical Manufacturing Program housed within the CSIRO Manufacturing Business Unit. He received his PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from The University of Melbourne in 1994. He completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Utah (1994-1996) and James Cook University (1996-1998). He was a lecturer at the University of Tasmania (1998-2000) and a research and development chemist at the Institute of Drug Technology Australia (2000-2001). In 2001 he was appointed to CSIRO as a Research Scientist, with subsequent promotions to Senior Research Scientist in 2003, Principal Research Scientist in 2007 and Senior Principal Research Scientist in 2013. His roles have included Project Leader (2002-), Stream Leader (2006-2014), Research Group Leader - Biomedical Synthetic Chemistry Group (2014-2018) and Research Director - Biomedical Manufacturing (2018-2021).
