Monika Sostaric
Monika Sostaric is currently pursuing a Master of Science by Research at the School of Science at Edith Cowan University in Joondalup, WA. She specialises in the metabolomics of bile acids found in circulating blood. Monika's research focuses on identifying significant bile acids that could serve as biomarkers for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). She places particular emphasis on developing a liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analytical method capable of resolving isomeric bile acid species.
Recently, Monika published a critical review covering validated methods for analysing bile acids in human blood samples. As a researcher and analytical chemist utilising LC-MS/MS technologies for metabolomics, Monika is also an expert in High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC).
In addition to her research efforts, Monika is actively involved in lecturing and promoting collaboration among academia, industry, and the community.
