Michelle L Coote
Professor Michelle Coote is a Matthew Flinders Professor in Chemistry at Flinders University and an Executive Editor of the Journal of the American Chemical Society. She completed her PhD in polymer chemistry at UNSW in 2000, followed by postdoctoral research in polymer physics at Durham University, UK and computational chemistry at the Australian National University. She established her independent research group at ANU in 2004 and moved to Flinders in 2022. Her research integrates computational, polymer, and physical organic chemistry to understand and control chemical reactivity. She’s a former Laureate Fellow, an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, and her awards include the Pople medal and the RACI Leighton and HG Smith medals.
