Gerardus J van Rooij
Prof. Gerard J. van Rooij (male, obtained PhD degree in 1999) is full professor at Maastricht University and Eindhoven University of Technology. He started studying plasma surface interaction studies at DIFFER and by participation in the research programs of the major international facilities for fusion research. Since 2012, he researches plasma activation of chemical reactions to aid storage of sustainable energy in chemical potential energy. In 2020, he became head of the Circular Chemical Engineering department and joined the Brightsite consortium that aims at providing climate neutral solutions to the chemical industry.
