Meredith J T Jordan

Meredith completed a PhD in theoretical chemistry at the University of Sydney under the supervision of Professor Bob Gilbert, before stints as a postdoctoral fellow with Professor Mick Collins at the ANU and as a research fellow at the University of Cambridge. She returned to the University of Sydney in 1999 as an ARC postdoctoral fellow before gaining a tenured position in 2005. Her research lies at the interface between chemistry and physics, encompassing theoretical chemistry, atomic, molecular and chemical physics and involves the development and application of rigorous theory to chemical systems. She has developed novel and innovative methods to describe interactions within and between molecules and has incorporated these into open-source computer codes. She has made notable contributions to atmospheric chemistry, where new reaction mechanisms she has identified are improving atmospheric model predictions of key species.
