Garima Sagar

I'm Garima Sagar, a joint PhD candidate at the University of Western Australia and AcSIR (India), working on nanomaterials for drug delivery. My research focused on to develops lipid-based nanocarriers that improve how poorly absorbed therapeutics, including natural compounds, reach their targets in the body. This builds on five years into research across analytical chemistry, nanotechnology and in vitro biological assays, where I've taken nanoparticles from synthesis and surface functionalization through formulation design and optimization and biological evaluation. I'm most interested in the translation problem: turning a well-characterized nanocarrier in the lab into something that actually works as a targeted delivery platform.
