Yijiao Jiang
Yijiao Jiang is an ARC Future Fellow and Professor in the School of Engineering, and Co-Director of Macquarie Research Centre for Transforming Energy Markets. Her research mainly focuses on the development of advanced technologies to convert carbon emissions, plastic and biowaste into sustainable fuels and valuable materials. She has secured funding from diverse sources including 2 ARC Industry Transformation Research Hubs with Rio Tinto, 4 Discovery Projects, Linkage Project, DECRA and Future Fellowship, CSIRO, Horticulture Innovation, European Commission, Inimiti Australia, etc. Currently she is leading a research group with 2 postdocs, 6 HDRs and 6 UG thesis students. She was awarded the 2025 Highly Commended Vice-Chancellor's Jim Piper Award for Excellence in Research Leadership and the 2023 Dean's Outstanding HDR Supervision Award. Yijiao served as Chair of the MQ Women in Engineering between 2019-2024. She is an Associate Editor of ACS Energy and Fuels and Carbon Capture Science and Technology since 2021. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a current member of the ARC College of Experts.
