Marcus J Giansiracusa
Marcus completed his PhD at the University of Manchester under supervision of Prof Richard Winpenny and Nicholas Chilton. Following postdoctoral roles in Manchester under Prof David Mills and then Nicholas Chilton, Marcus returned to the University of Melbourne for a 1-year postdoc under Prof Colette Boskovic. He received a Melbourne Postdoctoral Fellowship to start his independent research career in 2021 and has recently commenced an ARC DECRA Fellowship. Marcus focuses mainly on lanthanoid electronic structure, using neutron spectroscopy, luminescence and ab initio calculations to predict magnetic properties.
