Diego Andres Cordova Marino

Diego Córdova Mariño is a chemist specializing in the synthesis of organic and organometallic molecules. He is currently a PhD candidate in Chemistry at the University of Western Australia, where he is conducting his research under the supervision of Dr. Marcus Korb. He completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and earned his Licentiate degree under the supervision of Professor Javier Nakamatsu. He then pursued his Master's degree at the same institution, working with Professor Paloma Salas on the development of copper coordination complexes for the early detection of Alzheimer's disease. His doctoral research focuses on the development of sustainable methodologies in organometallic catalysis, particularly the replacement of palladium with iron as the transition metal in Kumada and Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. His scientific interests include organometallic chemistry, homogeneous catalysis, and the design of novel catalytic systems based on abundant and low-cost metals.
