Leqi Zhao
Leqi (Mark) Zhao is a Research Associate at Curtin University’s WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering, and a facility leader in X-ray surface analysis at the John de Laeter Centre. He obtained his PhD from Curtin University in December 2025. His work focuses on lithium-ion and solid-state batteries, including Ni-rich layered cathodes, electrode design, lithium battery recycling, surface/interface engineering, electrochemical stability, and degradation mechanisms. Mark combines electrochemical testing with advanced microscopy and spectroscopy, including XPS, TEM, XRD, ToF-SIMS, and thermal analysis, to develop more stable, sustainable, high-energy battery materials.
